Hidden Self-Isolation Beauty Tricks That Every Woman Should Know! PART 2: LASHES
Today I’m going to be talking about tips for maintaining healthy lashes at home. Lash lifts are massively popular; they lift the lashes at the base of the lash line, really opening the eyes and lengthening the lashes. This enhances the natural lash and is super low maintenance which I’m sure is why it’s so loved.
Lash lifts last from 6 to 10 weeks with most people booking repeat appointments every 8 weeks, you want to wait until your lashes have completely dropped before getting your next lash lift, if you get them done while they’re still partially lifted it can dehydrate the lash resulting in brittle lashes. If this happens give your lashes are break and I’d recommend using a lash serum. This Poni lash and brow growth serum has Biotin and peptides which stimulate the growth of healthy strong lashes if you have been getting a lash lift chances are you have had a lash tint as well which really makes the lashes pop.
A tint usually lasts 2 to 3 weeks depending on what products you are using around the eyes. You don’t want to be using a waterproof mascara it is quite harsh and to remove it you need something quite strong like an oil based cleanser which is never recommended with a lash lift. If you still want to be using a mascara after you have had your lashes lifted I would highly recommend a tubing mascara. We have the Poni cosmetics white night mascara this one’s amazing. tubing mascaras just create a little tube around the lash and you can just remove with warm water so no tugging or pulling at the lash the little tubes will just come off so no panda eyes, no smudging around the eyes and the other benefits to using a tubing mascara it doesn’t crumble off or smudge or transfer around the eyes.
If you’re not blessed with the most luscious lashes or you just want something extra, lash extensions are for you! here at Ardour we love classic lash extensions and we have a more natural approach to extensions, we want to enhance your eyes and we always consider your natural lashes thickness in length before choosing the right extension for you.
When maintaining your lashes from home you want to be cleansing them with a foaming cleanser a couple of times a week if you’re not wearing makeup and every day that you are wearing eye makeup. There is no need to wear mascara with extensions and you shouldn’t as it contains oils which break down the bonds in the Glue resulting in your lashes falling out prematurely and that means no oils whatsoever, so that means no oil based makeup removers or makeup around the eyes.
You want to be brushing your lashes every morning and the evening that way you are straightening out the lashes first thing in the morning after you have been asleep. You should be using a clean mascara wand running the brush through the top while supporting your lashes from the bottom you should be booking refills every two to three weeks but if you can’t come into the salon make sure you don’t pick your lashes when you pull them out you’re actually pulling your natural lash out by the root resulting in bald spots in the lash line and it actually takes take 2 + months to grow back.
If you just have just a few lashes left and they’re not looking too cute you can use a tubing mascara to fill in the gaps and bring some fullness to the rest of the lashes remembering to remove with water. Another way to Pump Up the Volume with your lashes when you’ve got a lot of gaps is to use individual lashes they come in little clusters you can apply them with some lash glue just drop them straight into the lash line so much easier to apply than a full strip lash.
If you are really desperate to get rid of your lashes you’ve only got a few stragglers left you can remove them using some oil so you could just soak the lash line in a little bit of oil on a cotton tip for a few minutes and it should break down the glue removing them nice and easy just remember never to pick your lashes you want to grow them nice long and healthy! I hope you found these tips helpful thank you and see you next time.
