What Are Henna Brows And How Does It Work?

It lasts longer than regular eyebrow tinting and leaves your brows looking bold, thick, and beautiful.

Henna (botanical name: lawsonia inermis) is a plant that grows in high-temperature surroundings of 35 degrees and up. Its leaves are crushed into powder, which is then used for cosmetic staining and dyeing. Henna has been a fashion and beauty statement since ancient Egyptian times, when noblewomen used it as makeup, hair dye, and clothing dye.

How Does The Procedure Work?

Using skillful shading and shaping techniques, your Ardour Artist will give you the perfect contour and colour for your face and skin tone. After your brow is waxed and tweezed into your desired shape, the henna powder is mixed with rose water, applied to your eyebrows, and allowed to soak into the skin. Depending on the intensity of the effect you want, this step takes anywhere from 15 to 25 minutes. In general, we go for less intensity at the brow front and stronger colour in the arch and tail.

Although the application process is similar to traditional Indian henna colouring, body henna is not used for brows. The shades that we use are specially formulated for your brows. Because it is 100% natural, with no added chemicals, henna brow treatments are safe for most people.

Henna lasts approximately one week on your skin and six to seven weeks on your brow hair. The effect is longer-lasting than tinting, which lasts one or two days on the skin and two to three weeks on the hair. If you’re going on holiday soon, you’re all set!

If you have light brows, don’t worry: we offer a wide variety of blonde and brunette colours that your Ardour Artist will use to create the perfect blend. We can also customise the amount of skin staining to meet your preferences.

After your brow tint, we recommend that you minimize exposure to the sun and free radicals to preserve the richness of the colour and stain. You should also refrain from washing your brow area for at least 12 hours and avoid harsh cleansers or exfoliators. To enjoy your henna brows for as long as possible, use shea or coconut butter to keep the area moisturised.
